FRESH SOUND SPRING 2013: "STRING THEORY"

The Fresh Sound music series, which began in 1996, has always focused on bringing excellent and, of course, fresh new music to San Diegans which they might not get to hear otherwise. April and May 2013 continues this mission. Some seasons we have focused on one theme at a time, for instance, percussion, reeds voice/electronics. And the past two seasons have been Crossovers, breaking down the barriers between contemporary classical, experimental, electronic and improvised/jazz. We never want to squish music into categories because good music is good music, right? However, that said, in April and May are presenting two great guitarists: Gyan Riley in a solo concert and Jeff Parker with his trio.
